Workers' Compensation Specialist

 

Employment Type:  Full-time, Direct Hire

Principal Duties:

Possess a thorough knowledge of workers compensation.

Handle incoming phone calls for the department.

Assist with new business marketing and client proposals.

Documentation of all correspondence / activities in the computer system. Follow up on any open activities as they come up.

Provide Certificate of Insurance support as requested by clients.

Reviewing and delegating incoming mail.

Quarterly actual payroll vs. estimated payroll audit process for payroll clients.

Monitor and update SOP’s and checklists for WC department.

Assist and finalize audit review analysis (i.e. audit worksheets, comparison to OMS records, report differences/changes, etc….).

Assist with experience Mod Repromulgation process.

Handle the Drug Free Workplace platform with clients. Maintain written communication plans for the Handbook and Manual. Coordinate services with TCN.

Provide Workplace Safety Program support and implementation with our clients including Loss Control.

Secure information and signed applications to file safety, drug and FCCAP credits.

Secure information for 13 week wage statements requested by carrier for any injured employee.

Assists with client claims through well developed action plans. Analyzes and processes workers’ compensation claims by investigating and gathering information to determine the exposure on the claim with the client. Assist client in processing complex or technically difficult claims. Reviews appropriate reserves to claims and continues to monitor reserve adequacy throughout the life of the claim.

Ensure claims are closed and experiment mod worksheets are accurate and correct prior to renewal.

Provides timely, professional reports and consultative support to our clients and WC Manager as needed to assist in the prospecting, maintenance and renewal process.

Provide WC support to Payroll department ensure accurate and up to date billing.

Backup to front receptionist desk as needed basis.

Respond positively and productively to all client and employee service issues and concerns.

Provide follow through to ensure projects are done accurately and timely.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma with some college coursework.

Excellent knowledge of workers’ compensation law in the particularly as it applies to compensability, causal relationship, and return to work

Licensure: CSR 440 minimum, 220 preferred.

Experience in the employee leasing or outsourcing industry preferred

Spreadsheet expertise, including charts and graphs

Professional business demeanor

Strong organizational skills

Ability to handle high volume work, fast-paced environment and successfully multi-task.

Have a high level of oral and written communication skills.
